Current mood: disappointed

Champions not so super so far...

<lj-user=Mikesama> was kind enough to give me a 14-day free trial key for Champions Online. Unfortunately, I went to the web site, registered, and logged in the key...and the game client didn't download at all. Though the site is counting down my trial as registered. Sent a ticket asking for tech support 2 days ago...no response.

Not really impressed with the game or company so far....too bad, as a lot of them used to work on City of Heroes, a game I still enjoy. Looks like unless DC Universe Online has lots of Green Lantern goodness for players, I'm not likely to jump ship on super-hero MMORPGs yet.

Still having issues (ie. Haven't heard back from Cryptic)?

Got the client running, finally! Had some issues because (1) Cryptic didn't mention you can't download the client through Firefox, (2) some recent botched security updates from Microsoft appear to have made my computer screwy.

So what user name are you using in CO?

me I'm using mikesama, I like the friend setup as it keeps track of the user as well as the character so if you friend a guy playing one character you can see him whatever character you're playing.

My character is Indigo Hawk (female) a gunslinger in purple. Still working through the looong tutorial, but it's a good way to pass the time while recuperating.

Now that I'm actually playing, there are things I enjoy about the game (the John Woo gun attacks are cool). But it does seem a bit buggy (enemies spawning in mid-air next to you, not being able to hop over a sidewalk curb.)

I'll try some more though, I do like the gun-fu character.
