Twa, trois...hoo boy
As a journalist and editor, I saw something on the local news today that made me cringe in sympathy and horror.
The entertainment report was talking about a controversial episode of "Gossip Girl" involving a threesome. When the little graphics box appeared beside the entertainment reporter, it read "Menage a twa."
The news team cracked up. "Isn't TWA out of business?" said one. "I think they meant 'trois'" said another.
I just cringed. I would hate to be whoever prepared that graphic. We all make spelling mistakes, but that's really bad. Especially on TV.
